Customer Testimonials

See what our customers have said about our service!

      "
Amazing customer service, some of the most reliable tunes I ever got. I had 2 cars etuned and he was always very helpful in the tuning process and helped me trouble shoot any issues I had while we were tuning. Truly an amazing experience, I always recommend my friends and family to Shinji whenever it come tuning time."
- Jamel R.

"Before he even started tuning my car i would always text him and ask him questions. And when he started tuning my cars, any questions I had, he would answer it without any hesitation. I highly recommend Shinji. One of the best tuners out there."
- Darius W.

"A while back, I had my 2009 STI tuned by Shinji and it was 100% the best thing I ever did to that car. From better throttle response, to a wicked turbo spool, Shinji turned my average daily to a not so average, fun piece of machinery. Not to mention, CUSTOMER SERVICE was EXCELLENT!!!!!!"
- Devin B.

     "
Got my tune done yesterday with the Cobb accessport 15 sti and went from 18 mpg to over 24 on stage 2 tune best money I have spent on this car"
- Corey L.

"Tuned my 15 sti. Very quick response and turn around time. 10/10 would recommend."
- Justin D.

"Adding to the positive experience. Just finishing up etune map with Shinji and I couldn't be happier with the communication and the map."
- Ryoga28

"I'm going to have to jump on the Shinji bandwagon right now too. Within 3 revisions (mbc only), my car was running the best it has ever run. There is no doubt in my mind. More power and more responsive. Notice my Nasioc join date? I've been around awhile. I've had my car "pro-tuned" a few times. I’ve tried several road tunes where large groups show up to a parking lot and a travelling tuner knocks out one after another. The first time my car ran okay, but not great. Hmmmm, let’s try another (a couple of years later). Same result. Long after this I buy a Tactrix cable and do some snooping around and comparing to my oem tune. First tuner used non oem injector settings. Second tuner must have copied the map and made some minor adjustments. I suspect this because the same incorrect injector settings are used. Time for yet another tuner. This tuner was quite a bit more comfortable with FBK and FLKC than I was. Response was always “your tune is excellent”, “nothing to worry about”, etc. Well I went in and adjusted the timing a bit here and there and the FBK and FLKC decreased quite a bit but not nearly enough. I never felt comfortable driving my car, and frankly, I felt like I had been ripped off. I don’t think these tuners lacked knowledge, I think that it is the nature of those types of tuning sessions. The pressure of a ton of cars waiting to be tuned, fatigue, etc. Regardless, I was very close to just getting rid of my car because I was over it all. I then decided to give it one more shot before dumping my car and getting something else. I read a lot of reviews of other tuners and came across a couple of them with excellent reputations. I was considering them when I came across the thread “post up your WOT logs”. There were reoccurring posts where Shinji was helping others to tune their cars. He seemed to really be interested in tuning and very knowledgeable. This passion of Shinji compelled me to contact him, to see if he tuned for others.
Fortunately, the response was yes! Shinji asked me several questions about my car and how I wanted to use it. His responses were quick and friendly. My mind was made up, time to go for it. Shinji sent me my first map with instructions. I followed his instructions, sent him my logs, and shortly thereafter I had a revision. Rinse and repeat. As mentioned earlier, 3 revisions using my mbc and my car is running great! Time to add my ebcs for a hybrid boost setup. A few more revisions and I now have all the benefits of a hybrid boost setup! My car runs fantastic! Shinji also gave me instructions on how to use the maps for a variety of scenarios (daily, HPDE). Going forward, Shinji will be the only tuner to “touch” my car. Period."

"I found Shinji through a member on here who had posted a glowing review of his tuning experience with Shinji. I had a somewhat unusual 2010 NA Forester adventure/overland build going on at the time, and due to cams, intake, EL header, Streetlite flywheel and lighter pulleys I wanted to make sure the car had a rock solid tune.
I have had a few Subarus in the past, and a previous experience with an "E-tuner" who agreed to open source tune my 04 FXT had not turned out well.
Shinji has been exceptional in all respects. Right from the start I could tell this was going to be a great experience. His communication was awesome through the entire process. He is always very prompt in responding to email and incredibly efficient in creating revisions based on the log files I sent him.
He worked through several mechanical issues with me, and has been incredibly patient and helpful throughout the tuning process. I had requested a reliable, responsive tune on 87 octane. But Shinji has delivered FAR more. Through each revision I've noticed how he's slowly built up the power curve and the tune has become smoother and more responsive with each iteration.
I was not going for more power as my main goal for this build, but the car has been transformed and is much much smoother, more responsive, and more drive-able (Which is amazing considering the lighter flywheel and pulleys) than it ever was in stock configuration.

I am highly impressed with Shinji and cannot recommend enough. So, even if you have a completely stock NA, I would have Shinji take a look at your ROM and see what he can do with his tuning wizardry. Shinji will be the ONLY tuner I use for any future modifications."

"I have been around the Subaru game for more than a decade now, built several cars that many here have praised and I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing with the community. I consider myself to be an expert mechanic, solid fabricator and fairly knowledgeable in the engine management and tuning realm, although, I have yet to become good enough at tuning that I am comfortable tuning my own cars from zero to hero.
In the last 10 years, I have employed no fewer than 6 tuners both dyno and etune. I have NEVER written a review of an e-tuner.
My most recent experience with an e-Tuner is Shinji Tuned.
Over the last several months, Shinji has tuned 2 of my cars. My 2006 Forester STi with a tired APS SR56 on meth, stock bottom end and heads, Tomei UEL headers, 3" TurboXS turbo back, ID1000's, TGV deletes, stock fuel rails, TurboXS tmic etc etc.
The other car is my daily driver 2006 Forester XT with a VF48, STI Tmic, 3" TurboXS turbo back, stock intake and injectors.
Both cars are tuned on Open Source and have widebands.
Both cars run AMAZING, are knock free and are safely tuned to run the best power for their given mods and capabilities. I log them whenever I am in the car(s) driving. I have done that for years. I NEVER leave things to chance when it comes to tuning and do NOT assume that any tune is always safe. Logging is the only way to see when things change. I do it religiously.
I am a bit embarrassed to admit that I am not tuning these cars myself at this point in my Subaru journey, but I have finite time and prefer to focus on the things I am excellent at, which is building, fab'ing and driving. Tuning is a mindset that requires the ability to look at lots of graphs and numbers, and I am not wired for that. I get headaches looking at cells full of numbers while trying to make heads or tails out of the data contained in them. I suck at it. That is why it has always been worth it to me to trust other people who are good at it, pay them for it, and expect that they know what they are doing. It has mostly worked out for me with very few exceptions.
The best experience I have had so far in over 10 years of modding and tuning is with Shinji. The guy gets it. His cautious approach to adding power, timing and making fuel and boost adjustments is astonishing. I have never once felt like he rushed a revision just to keep me happy, or get me off his back. He replies to emails promptly, answers the (stupid) questions I have professionally, and usually has a revision for me within 24 hours, with VERY few exceptions on the revision time scale.
If you have ever read any of my build journals, you will know that I am easily one of the most OCD guys on this forum. That OCD presents itself in every facet of my life. When I do things, I do them exactly the way I want them done, and often times I go over board, but it is who I am. Knowing that about me, it should be easy to surmise that I am not one that just accepts mediocrity. I do not. The guy tuning my car has to accept that, and know that he is embarking on a journey with a guy who refuses to accept mediocre work. I am that way with my cars, and particularly with the tuning.
The bummer for most tuners that work with me is that I know just enough to be "dangerous". In other words, I can read logs and determine when the car is running correctly and when it is not. These engines cost too much money to build, for me to allow some kook to guess his way through my tune. I can spot that crap a mile away and will bow out immediately if I feel that is how you tune. I will walk, and that is the last dime you will get from me. If you screw me, I will blast that info all over the interwebs. If you do me right, I will tell people about it, by taking my time to write out a review like this one, and encouraging other people to give you a chance.
Shinji earned this review. My cars run AMAZING, they are safe and fun as hell to drive. I have 4 Subaru's and 3 of them are turbo charged. The third car is on stands right now being built. When it is done, Shinji will get a crack at it. I trust him like that now. He earned it. The non Turbo car will end up being a turbo charged beast at some point too. Shinji will get his hands on that one as well, but it may be a while.
At the end of the day, we all take a risk with whomever we allow to tune our cars, whether it be on the dyno, or by email. At this point in MY journey, the best experience I have had is with Shinji.
Give him a shout if you need help. I am sure he would be thrilled to help you get where you need to be. If you need to see what kind of cash I have tied up in my rides, and why I am so picky about who tunes them.... Click my user name and look at my journals. You will be hard pressed to find anyone as picky as I am when it comes to my cars.

Shinji for the mother ****ing win."
